2009 |
| Fri-Mon 10-13 april: | The
Viking farm Årsjögård is open for the
public during the Eastern holidays! Friday-Monday at 11.00-17.00.
During these days there are dozens of art exhibitions in the
western, southern and northern part of the county of Gästrikland.
All in all, about 80more than 70 artists take part. The Viking farm will also be a part of the art happening. The shop with souvenirs will be open and there will be a guide telling the visitors about the art and decorations around the farm. Also, at the cookhouse you can buy our homemade onion soup with lingonberry bread, Viking style! |
| Sat 18 april: | Viking meeting. Vikings from Fafner and other associations will get together for a weekend of handicraft, working together and having fun. |
| Sat 30 May: | We take part in a market in Sandviken. |
| Wed-Sun 1-5, 8-12 and 15-19 July: | This Summer's opening hours at the Viking farm Årsjögård! The first three weeks in July, Wednesdays-Sundays, the farm will be crowded with Vikings showing you games, runestones and handicraft, telling stories, making Viking food, showing you around the houses and much more! |

This weekend we will make iron the Viking way at Årsjögård
in our recently built blast-oven.
The current plan is to have a fire going in the oven from Friday afternoon
until midnight on Saturday, when we will add iron ore and start making
iron. This process should take something like 12-14 hours, so we are looking
at taking out the lump of iron sometime early afternoon on Sunday. Vikings from Fafner as well as from other associations will be working at the farm, but the public is welcome to come to the farm and look at the work in progress. |

| What happened in 2008: |
| Thur 13 March: | We will be at the Historiska Museet (The Museum of National Antiqities) in Stockholm. Between 16.00-20.00 we will sell jewellery, ironworks, ribbons etc and demonstrate Viking handicarft and inform visitors about the Viking farm. Free entrance! |

in tablet weaving at the Viking farm. Experience two days at the Viking farm learning the ancient technique of tablet weaving. For 1250 SKR (some material excluded), two lunches, breakfast and dinner is included. You will also get to spend the night in the longhouse! |
