Årsunda is located in the centre of Gästrikland. The easiest way to reach it from the north is to take highway E4 towards Gävle. Turn on to highway 80 towards Sandviken, then take county road 272 (Tidernas Väg) south for 16 km until reaching Årsunda. Coming from the south, take county road 272, 110 km north of Uppsala.
